Microfacs Inc Completes Large Scanning Project for the US Military

Microfacs a specialist in imaging and document conversion, announces the completion of a large project that required scanning and indexing 1.4 million images from 16 mm jacketed fiche.

Minneapolis, MN, June 1, 2010 -- Microfacs Inc, an imaging and document conversion company, announces the successful completion of a major scanning and indexing project done for the United States military. The job entailed scanning and indexing 1.4 million images from 16 mm jacketed microfiche.

Six state-of-the-art Sunrise Digital Microfiche scanners were used to complete this project. The project was done in a secured facility located in Minneapolis Minnesota.

"This job was fairly complex and required intensive quality control because there were many duplicate fiche and fiche that was missing or out of sequence," said Rick Romens, President of Microfacs. "We excel in projects that require more "hands on" inspection and monitoring."

Microfac's core business is taking microfilm media such as microfiche, 16mm and 35 mm microfilm and aperture cards and scanning into a digital format. Indexing is "labeling" each image with critical identifiers such as name, date, location and ID number. This allows efficient searching and retrieval of stored files.

Many contracts require a high level of confidentiality and document integrity; Microfacs Inc has the experience and systems to handle these type of contracts.
