LateRooms.com - Photographic Modernity from 1918 to 1948 on show in Barcelona

LateRooms.com can reveal that Barcelona’s Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) is hosting a fascinating exhibition this summer entitled Photographic Modernity from 1918 to 1948.

Press Release: Guests at hotels in Barcelona can visit the art space to discover what sort of images were being produced in Prague, Paris and Barcelona during that period in terms of the avant-garde.

Running until September 12th, the exhibition costs €3.50 to enter and learn about the movement.

The organisers explained that the artistic work produced in Prague and Paris has often been exhibited before, with names such as Germaine Krull, Man Ray and Brassaï likely to be familiar to art enthusiasts

"This exhibition sets out to reveal the contributions by Catalan artists. In this way, the MNAC is offering a fresh reading that will help put Catalan avant-garde photography where it belongs on the international scene," remarked the venue.

It suggested that publications being produced in Europe at the time made their way into the Spanish autonomous region and influenced many people, particularly in sectors like architecture.

For a deeper understanding, visitors can take a guided tour of the exhibition, which lasts one hour and a half.

Another show that may have enticed plenty of art lovers to the institution is The Iberians, Culture and Coinage, which showcased coins from the area.

The MNAC is closed on Mondays but opens at 10:00 (local time) every other day, shutting at 19:00 every day except Sunday, when it closes at 14:30.

For more information on this event visit the MNAC website or contact the venue on (00 34) 93 622 03 76.

Commenting on Photographic Modernity from 1918 to 1948, Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, said: "We strongly urge people thinking of going to Photographic Modernity from 1918 to 1948 and who need hotels in Barcelona to book early to avoid disappointment."
