Biotech Articles
Press Release: There have been huge advances in the field of biotechnology lately. Even without we knowing, biotech has been around us for centuries. From fermenting wine to even making cheese. In short biotechnology is a technology based on biology, especially when used in agriculture, food science, and medicine.
Biotechnology is rapidly shaping our future. The advent of Hybrid crops has helped humans to increase harvest by a large percentage. These GM crops can actually defend themself much better from diseases and bacteria. Scientists have been able to clone animals, which at one point was possibly considered impossible.
Careers in biotechnology will likely dominate the next couple of centuries, helping us to live a better and healthier life. There are several biotech critics, claiming that this is causing a imbalance of what nature had created. It is possibly true, but for good or bad, science never stops reinventing itself. The immunizations and antibiotics which have saved the life of millions of children and adults are also a result of biological research.
There are several big biotech companies which provide excellent job opportunities to scientists who have a good experience in biotechnology. It is a general consensus that the pace of growth of Computer Science fields will be left behind by the biotechnology industry. Today there are hundreds of educational institutions all over the world giving Masters degree in several biotech fields. Although not all institutions are currently delivering a high quality education, but they are constantly evolving and improving. Research on adult stem cells are another controversial area, which some countries have allowed research to be done, while others still have not permitted because of ethical issues. One of the fastest growing area in biotechnology is Genetics, which itself has several branches.
