Today, Wave Technology Group, a mobile solutions software engineering firm focused on transforming industries through disruptive innovations, announced the launch of WaveTracker Plus application which allows a subscriber to track people using the GPS within their smart phones with a simple text message. Currently, WaveTracker Plus is free and available for Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile.

In addition, WaveTracker Plus embeds Wave Technology Group’s recently filed patent pending technology that enables the execution of a process on a remote smart phone using the Short Message Service protocol without any user interaction. For users of WaveTracker Plus in an extreme situation of an Amber Alert, a simple text message will be sent to a missing child's phone without interaction and the application will track its location and send the information to the concerned parent.

Wave Technology Group has designed this solution encompassing the Wave Foundation Framework, SMS Remote Application Handler, GPS, Smartphone, and 3G Network. This application monitors the whereabouts of one or more family members by reporting GPS location, time, and device id to a centralized server. The services offered by the Foundation Framework resolves the address of the GPS location, logs the time and location, authenticates the devices and then applies configured rules to the subscriber. Those rules can be notification rules, or alarms set by the subscriber. The subscriber has two ways to monitor their family members: 1) through a web browser 2) or through a client on their smart phones. The subscriber can request the last known location, or multiple locations and the information can be displayed as text or drawn on a map.
